It’s always a great idea to document those early days with your newborn through photos, and the most stress-free place to do them is in your home! Here are some reasons why I think in home newborn photos are the best way to go.
Include the Whole Family in your Newborn Photos
Your entire family can be in your photos, fur babies included. This might be my favorite part of in-home sessions. EVERYONE can be in the photos, and in their natural element, too! You have this beautiful family and your new baby is becoming part of all of your lives. This allows you to document the relationship between everyone and their new family member. Even if fido is not that into it…isn’t that what it’s all about?
Your Home Doesn’t Need to be Spotless.
You have enough to worry about. Creating a spotless home for your in-home newborn session should not be one of them. Focus on clearing clutter from a few corners that have nice light, and I’ll take care of the rest!
You Will be More Comfortable in your Home
There’s absolutely nowhere that everyone in your family will feel more comfortable and confident than at home! If you have other little ones, they will be able to relax and let their personalities come out when they are in their own environment with their own belongings. Doing your newborn photo sessions in your home also eliminates all the unknowns of an outside location.
You Have Time to Heal from Childbirth.
We can’t underestimate how hard it is on your body to heal from childbirth, and truly the last thing you need is to load everyone and everything in the car to drive to a new location for your photos. Doing your newborn photos in your home saves your body the added burden of too much physical activity too soon.
You are Prepared For the Unexpected.
Think about it…at home, you have extra milk, extra outfits, all the diapers and wipes in the world, favorite stuffed animals and toys…the list goes on! You have everything you need at home to keep the whole family happy. No packing everything up and stuffing it into the car required!
